This is a £16m build-to-rent apartment complex on the banks of the River Irwell, close to the Spinningfield business district. The Slate Yard comprises of 90 stylish apartments over 15 storeys. FK’s cladding design helps project the Slate Yard’s contemporary character in a high profile area of the city.

Devised and developed by English Cities Fund (ECf), the Slate Yard is a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and the Homes and Communities Agency. The project is the first institutionally funded, custom-built PRS scheme to be delivered in Greater Manchester.

The project was interrupted by the collapse of Carillion, however FK quickly built new relationships with Bowmer & Kirkland as they took over the scheme. Subsequently FK became responsible for the full development.

Issues created before our involvement were successfully resolved, and following the Grenfell tragedy FK was proactive in understanding and applying new regulations. The resulting build is fully compliant and of the highest quality.
